This is one of the coolest. most intimate, and artistic weddings we have ever had the honor to be a part of. Check out this beautiful Frick Park Wedding!
The first things we learned about Marissa and Adam before their wedding were enough to make us want to just be their best friends forever. Can we just get paid to be friends?
From Marissa (initially): “Adam’s a kick-ass cancer survivor/med student who’s looking to specialize in Radiation Oncology. He’s also an insanely good cook (in my opinion) and a whiz when it comes to DIY bicycle repair.
I’m learning to cut my own (curly) hair (wish me luck!), am obsessed with our local farmers market, and have recently rekindled my love affair with the Harry Potter series (this time on tape).
We are both voracious readers, love Asian food (of any kind), and most weekends can be found either hiking through the woods, chilling in the park, or eating dumplings.
Adam and I grew up together, but we didn’t start dating until our friend circles started mingling the summer before our junior year of high school.
Since then (~11 years?), we’ve weathered long distance dating, major life changes, multiple moves, med school, and a year long bout of cancer and chemo (Adam’s been cancer-free since June 2015! Woot woot!).
If I could, I would attach a picture of the both of us in our pee wee soccer photo. We are adorable, but neither of us remember being on the same team.”
We knew that we HAD to be a part of their big day. Ugh. What a way to win over our hearts. We have been looking forward to their wedding since that first email, even before they decided to hire us. We are so glad they did!
We began the day at Workshop PGH DIY School. If you have not heard of it, or been there, just go.
What. A. Rad. Place.
So colorful, so artsy, and Kelly (the owner) was so gracious to take on the decorating and hosting of the very first public wedding that they held. We can only hope that we will be able to photograph the venue again.
Their Frick Park ceremony was so special. Being surrounded by a small gathering of their closest people while reading their honest, heartwarming vows was a wonderful experience for our souls. We couldn’t have witnessed a more perfect occasion.
Dinner was at Legume. This was where we first sat down with Marissa and Adam and had a yummy dessert a year ago. We can tell it is a special place to them.
They did wedding-ing right. They made it personal to them and threw traditions out the window.
Our deepest, sincere congratulations to the newlyweds!!
