Unbelievable. That is all I can say to describe Suzie and Jason’s maternity session in McConnell’s Mill and Moraine state parks.
Leading up to the session, Susie was hoping for snow. There were several inches the night before so we thought we got lucky! But alas, it melted.
We started off at Hells Hollow trail head to take a little hike down to the falls, hoping they were usable. Surprise! We encountered a little bit of snow. Woo! Hells Hollow Falls were flowing abundantly, so we made a little “path” so that Suzie and Jason could safely stand at the bottom. Two personal soaking wet socks and shoes later, (plus everyone else’s as well) we headed back to the cars. I luckily saved my cameras from the rapids of doom and sacrificed my feet instead.
We had to hit up Cleland Rock. Truth be told, I didn’t think we would get much there as the view was mostly of dead trees, buuuuuuuuut the light you guys!! The light in the field. It was everything that dreams are made of. Some of my favorite portraits ever in the history of my life. Thats 29 years yinz guys. After avoiding flat tires from the mud canyons at the bottom of the road we made way to Bear Run Boat Ramp at Moraine State Park. So freezing, but we made it for sunset and I am so glad because, well, you will see.
These two were super troopers. We were so excited to spend another day with them after their wedding. Congratulations you guys!
